“MBE Recipient, Captain Preet Chandi, Assumes Role as Expedition Leader for Clean Planet Peninsula”

The Clean Planet Foundation has announced a major addition to their team in the fight against climate change. On Monday, April 28th, 2025, the foundation announced that Captain Preet Chandi MBE, also known as ‘Polar Preet’, will be joining the Clean Planet Peninsula Project as Expedition Leader.

Preet Chandi is a renowned polar explorer, having achieved multiple Guinness World Records for her solo expeditions to the poles. She is also a former British Army physiotherapist, bringing a wealth of experience and expertise to the team.

Her impressive accomplishments include the longest solo unsupported one-way polar ski journey by a female and the overall longest solo unsupported one-way polar ski journey ever. In addition, Preet is the first Asian woman to complete a solo expedition to the South Pole.

In her new role with the Clean Planet Foundation, Preet will be leading the flagship polar expeditions. This will begin with a journey to Svalbard in 2025, followed by trips to the Arctic and Antarctic in 2026.

Preet will be working closely with Professor Fay Couceiro, the Head of the Microplastics Research Group at the Revolution Plastics Institute. Together, they will identify suitable locations for fieldwork, ensure scientific rigor, and maintain the highest standards of safety, inclusivity, and expedition readiness.

The Clean Planet Peninsula Project is a major initiative by the Clean Planet Foundation to tackle the growing problem of plastic pollution in the world’s oceans. With the addition of Preet Chandi to the team, the foundation is confident in their ability to make a significant impact and create a cleaner and healthier planet for future generations.

Distributed by Pressat, the announcement of Preet Chandi’s involvement in the Clean Planet Peninsula Project is a testament to the importance of this project and the dedication of the Clean Planet Foundation in their mission to combat climate change.
