An inspirational teenager has released a poetry book titled ‘Chronically Coping’ in efforts to raise awareness for juvenile arthritis.

On Wednesday, May 21, 2025, Kyle Brooks, an 18-year-old, made his mark in the literary world by publishing his debut collection of poems titled “Chronically Coping”. This powerful collection offers a raw and evocative portrayal of Kyle’s personal experiences living with Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis (JIA). JIA is an autoimmune condition that causes the body’s immune system to attack the joints, resulting in pain, reduced mobility, and potentially long-term disability if left untreated.

All proceeds from the sale of Kyle’s book will be donated to Juvenile Arthritis Research, a UK-based charity dedicated to supporting children and families affected by this often-overlooked condition.

Having been diagnosed with JIA as a teenager, Kyle has found solace and a means of expression through poetry. His work delves into the complexities of daily life with arthritis, shedding light on aspects that are often misunderstood or overlooked.

The Juvenile Arthritis Research charity was founded by Richard Beesley after his daughter was diagnosed with JIA. The charity has been instrumental in raising awareness and providing support for those affected by this condition. Through initiatives like the “Think JIA” campaign, the charity aims to educate healthcare professionals and the public about the reality of childhood arthritis, which is often misdiagnosed or dismissed as “growing pains”.

Kyle’s book is now available for purchase throughout the UK via the charity’s official website. By supporting this cause, individuals can not only gain insight into the daily struggles of those living with JIA but also contribute to the efforts of the Juvenile Arthritis Research charity in making a difference in the lives of children and families affected by this condition.
