World Rugby and Stepathlon Launch Road to Twickenham Virtual Challenge for Women’s Rugby World Cup 2025
London, 05.06.2025 – In an unprecedented partnership, World Rugby and Stepathlon have joined forces to launch Road to Twickenham powered by Stepathlon – a global fan engagement and wellness initiative created to involve supporters in the upcoming Women’s Rugby World Cup.
The Road to Twickenham Virtual Challenge, exclusively available on the Rugby World Cup App, started 100 days prior to the first match of the Women’s Rugby World Cup 2025. The tournament will kick off with hosts England facing USA at the Stadium of Light in Sunderland on Friday, August 22, 2025.
With the Women’s Rugby World Cup 2025 poised to be the biggest celebration of women’s rugby to date, Road to Twickenham provides a unique opportunity for fans to get involved, generating excitement and anticipation for the tournament while also educating fans about the players, teams, and venues.
Road to Twickenham invites fans to participate in physical activities, contests, and quizzes to earn points, climb up the leaderboard, compete against other global fans, and have a chance to win exclusive prizes, including tickets, merchandise, and matchday experiences. This initiative aims to create a global, active community of fans who are all passionate about the Women’s Rugby World Cup 2025.

The Road to Twickenham Virtual Challenge will take place in two phases:
Phase 1: Road to Twickenham – 100 Days to Go Prep Sprint (Live until 21st August)
During the lead-up to the tournament, participants will embark on a virtual journey through the eight host locations, completing tasks and challenges related to wellness and rugby to earn points and unlock exclusive rewards. This phase aims to inspire, educate, and energize fans and will also give participants the chance to win match tickets and other prizes. It sets the stage for the main challenge and builds excitement as fans prepare for the tournament.
Phase 2: Road to Twickenham (22nd August – 27th September)
During the tournament, the virtual course will shift focus to the official Women’s Rugby World Cup 2025 stadiums, with challenges tied to real-time tournament moments. As fans progress through the challenges and climb the leaderboard, they will have the chance to win tickets, merchandise, and once-in-a-lifetime experiences. The Road to Twickenham Virtual Challenge will culminate in a grand finale, where the top participants will be invited to watch the final live at Twickenham Stadium on Saturday, 27th of September, with exclusive hospitality as part of an unforgettable experience.
