Scottish karting sensation Jack Marshall has secured a place with GB4 team Pace Performance, marking the start of his single-seater racing journey. The move comes after a stellar six-month spell on the karting scene, and Jack has now begun formal preparation with the aim of racing competitively in GB4 by 2026.
A lifelong motorsport enthusiast, Jack has always aspired to climb the single-seater ladder. He began karting recreationally from a young age and took up sim racing during the 2020 pandemic. Upon leaving school, he returned to the physical track and began testing at his local karting centre in early 2025. His talent was instantly recognised, earning him a BIKC licence and swift promotion to the elite level.
Teamsport Karting’s Chief Instructor Aidan Stewart observed:
“It was clear from the early sessions that Jack had an exceptional talent, but also the drive to improve every time he went on the track. I am not surprised that he has been picked up by a racing team, and am looking forward to following his career up the Formula ranks.”
Jack’s progression was rapid. After securing 10th place in February and 5th in March, he set the fastest lap ever recorded at the circuit in April—an impressive feat considering the level of competition. Despite missing the opening rounds, he went on to finish third overall in the Elite series standings.
His next challenge is qualifying for the BIKC finals this November in Warrington. During recent local heats at Teamsport Clydebank, Jack clocked a lap faster than the existing average leader—though he expects competition to intensify.
Jack commented:
“There are some very strong racers in Clydebank, and we are always pushing each other to go faster. I think I’ve still got work to do to get the fastest qualifying time but looking forward to the challenge.”
Jack’s karting performances caught the attention of several GB4 outfits. Now officially part of Pace Performance’s Academy, he will join the team—who are debuting in GB4 in 2025 after racing in the Ginetta Juniors—with the goal of a full race seat next year.
Sean Byrne, team owner of Pace Performance, said:
“We have been excited by what we have seen from Jack, and are looking forward to seeing him in our car next year alongside our other drivers to continue to push Pace Performance towards the top of the GB4 grid.”
In preparation, Jack has started an intensive development programme with Kokoro Performance, the motorsport coaching group known for producing high-level racing talent. His coaching team includes 2024 F2 Monaco GP winner Zak O’Sullivan and former F3 star Johnathan Hoggard.
Johnathan Hoggard said:
“It’s been a pleasure to work with Jack so far in his early development for single seater racing. We have been impressed by Jack’s determination to improve and therefore how quickly he has been able to learn about the differences from karting. We are looking forward to seeing how he develops further and get him ready for a full racing programme in 2026.”
With no motorsport background or financial safety net, Jack is breaking barriers the hard way—through sheer talent, focus and resilience. In just half a year, he’s carved out a name for himself on the track and is now pushing toward a future in F3 and beyond.
