Ovarian Cancer Support Charity Hosts Health and Wellbeing Day in Norwich

Thursday 10 July, 2025

Ovacome, the UK’s leading ovarian cancer support charity, is pleased to announce their upcoming Health and Wellbeing Day at the Mercure Norwich Hotel in Norwich on Saturday 19 July 2025. This event is open to anyone who has been affected by ovarian cancer, including friends and family of those diagnosed. Attendees will have the opportunity to learn more about maintaining their health following a diagnosis and connect with others who are also navigating the disease. The event will feature presentations from experts on available treatment options and the latest developments in ovarian cancer research.

Ovarian cancer affects approximately 7,500 people in the UK each year, and one in 50 women can expect to receive a diagnosis in their lifetime. As an uncommon cancer, those with ovarian cancer may feel isolated, making events like this particularly important.

Anna Hudson, head of Ovacome’s Support Services, expressed her excitement for the event, stating, “We are delighted to be hosting our first Health and Wellbeing Day in Norwich. This event is a great opportunity for our Ovacome community to come together, socialize, and make new connections. Our team has put together an informative agenda with expert speakers, including a talk from local Consultant Gynaecologist, Dr. Nikos Burbos, from Norfolk and Norwich Community Hospital. We will also be discussing the support and resources that Ovacome offers, which will be beneficial for those who are new to our organization.”

In addition to Dr. Burbos’ talk, attendees can expect a session on “Scar Therapy” with Fiona Kent and Pryscilla Borrajo, a talk from Clinical Nurse Specialist Siobhan Falco, a meditation session with Dee Williams, and a craft tapestry session led by Faith Caton.

To register for the event and for more information on the schedule for the day, please visit https://www.ovacome.org.uk/event/norwich-hwd, call 0800 0087054, or email ovacome@ovacome.org.uk. This event is open to those with a diagnosis of ovarian cancer, as well as their friends and family members. Ovacome is also able to provide practical and financial assistance for travel or accommodation, if needed.

This event has been generously funded by the Childwick Trust.

Interviews are available upon request.
