The charity is calling on individuals to participate in the 2025 Rainforest Run as a way to support the planet.

International Animal Rescue (IAR) is excited to announce the upcoming Rainforest Run 2025, a global virtual challenge aimed at protecting rainforests and the wildlife that depend on them. The event, which will take place on Sunday, 28th September 2025, is the perfect opportunity for individuals and teams to lace up their trainers and make a difference for the environment.

According to Jeanette, a representative from IAR, “It’s the perfect challenge for anyone wanting to start running. Participants can run, jog, or walk 5km and raising money is a great motivation to keep going.”

Following the success of last year’s event, with hundreds of participants from all over the world, the movement is gaining momentum. Currently, over 100 runners have already registered for the 2025 Rainforest Run, with more joining daily. In total, participants have raised £2,180, planted 436 trees, and taken the first steps towards this year’s ambitious fundraising goal.

Team Orangutan, a group of dedicated individuals passionate about protecting rainforests, will be led by The Kid Conservationist, a young environmental activist who inspires others to take action for the planet. Accompanying them on their journey will be wellness entrepreneur Valerie Orsoni, who will be leading a team of ten women on The Rainforest Run while trekking through the rainforest to Kilimanjaro’s base camp. Their journey is a powerful symbol of commitment, courage, and solidarity for the planet.

The Rainforest Run is a crucial event as rainforests play a vital role in maintaining the Earth’s ecosystem. They act as the lungs of the planet, absorbing carbon, producing oxygen, and providing a home for millions of species. However, they are constantly under threat from deforestation and climate change. The Rainforest Run gives individuals and teams the opportunity to make a difference and be a part of the solution.

“By signing up, you’re not just running a distance, you’re running for the future of our planet,” said Gavin Bruce, CEO of International Animal Rescue. “Every step, every pound or dollar raised, and every tree planted brings us closer to protecting ecosystems that sustain life on Earth. We’re thrilled to see so many individuals, families, and teams join this year’s event.”

On Sunday 28th September 2025, participants from around the world will run, jog, or walk 5k or 10k in their own communities while raising funds to protect rainforests. The event is open to individuals, groups, and even four-legged friends. The registration fee of £10/$13 includes:
