The choir shows their support for Farnham’s Sebastian’s Action Trust.

Hampshire and Surrey Hills Men’s Choir Present Donations to Sebastian’s Action Trust Charity

On Thursday, October 9th, 2025, Hampshire and Surrey Hills Men’s Choir presented a generous donation to the Sebastian’s Action Trust charity at a rehearsal. The choir’s Community Partnerships Fundraiser, Louise Gough, gratefully received the donations from their highly successful summer concert.

Sebastian’s Action Trust is a charity that provides emotional, practical, and social care to families of seriously ill children. They offer respite breaks at their specialized center in Hampshire, where families can receive support and participate in fun activities.

The concert, which took place at the charming St. Thomas-on-The Bourne Church in June, was a spectacular event. Under the direction of Musical Director Philip Viveash-Brainch and Deputy Conductor James Harrison, with accompanist Charlotte Hobbs, the choir delivered a stellar performance. Despite a heatwave and the competing Farnham Carnival, a large audience turned out to enjoy the high-quality music from the choir and soloists, including a small group nicknamed the “Hash Tags.”

Mark Kusionowicz, the choir’s Chair, made the presentation and expressed their enthusiasm for supporting small local charities. However, Sebastian’s Action Trust holds a special place in the heart of Musical Director Philip Viveash-Brainch. The charity, which was inspired by Sebastian, a brave young boy who lost his battle with cancer at just nine years old, is close to Philip’s heart as he had the privilege of teaching Sebastian. The choir is proud to support the charity’s work and is honored to have been able to contribute to their cause.

Louise Gough, who received the donation on behalf of Sebastian’s Action Trust, expressed her gratitude to the choir for their generous contribution. She also shared the exciting summer of activities that the charity was able to provide for their clients, thanks to the donations from the choir’s concert.

The Hampshire and Surrey Hills Men’s Choir is thrilled to have been able to support such a worthy cause and looks forward to continuing their partnership with Sebastian’s Action Trust in the future.
