Legacy Youth Zone in Croydon, London has officially launched its festive Digital Christmas Tree “Buy a Bauble” fundraising campaign, calling on the community to come together and support young people in need.
The campaign invites individuals, families, and local businesses to “buy a bauble” online and decorate Legacy’s virtual Christmas tree. Each bauble represents a donation that will directly fund youth programmes, hot meals, and safe spaces for thousands of young people in the Croydon area.
According to Sonya Russo, Corporate Partnerships Manager at Legacy Youth Zone, the campaign aims to bring people together in the spirit of giving. “Every bauble represents someone in our community choosing to invest in young people’s futures,” she said. “Whether you’re an individual or a local business, your contribution will make a real difference this Christmas.”
Legacy Youth Zone currently serves over 3,000 members aged 8–19 (and up to 25 for those with additional needs). With many young people and families facing financial strain this winter, the campaign hopes to ensure that no young person misses out on a safe, warm, and positive place to go.
Supporters can visit https://visufund.com/create-legacies-this-christmas to choose a bauble, add a festive message, and watch as the digital tree lights up with the names and messages of donors across the borough. Donations start at £50, which can provide Legacy Youth Zone members with 16 hot meals or cover 3 hours of youth work. Every donation, big or small, can make a huge difference to the lives of young people in the community.
Legacy Youth Zone relies on fundraising from the community, corporate partnerships, grants and trusts, and membership. The organization is encouraging everyone – from local residents to corporate partners – to get involved, share the campaign online, and help fill the tree before Christmas Eve.
Russo added, “The young people who walk through our doors every day inspire us. This Christmas, we want the community to show them just how valued they are.”
To take part in the “Buy a Bauble” campaign, individuals can visit https://visufund.com/create-legacies-this-christmas, choose a bauble and donation amount, and add their name, message, or business logo. The digital tree will then grow and sparkle with the spirit of giving. Let’s come together this Christmas to create a better future for young people in Croydon.
