CIBSE (Chartered Institution of Building Services Engineers) is pleased to announce that their UAE branch has been officially renamed to CIBSE MENA (Middle East and North Africa). This change reflects the Institution’s growing presence and membership across the region, aligning with the rapid growth of the building services industry in the Middle East and North Africa.
Since its establishment, CIBSE UAE has played a pivotal role in supporting building services professionals in the United Arab Emirates. However, as the region and the nature of CIBSE’s activities have evolved, the institution has seen a significant increase in engagement and building services activities across the wider MENA region. To better align with this growth, the decision was made to rename the region to CIBSE MENA.
Ruth Carter, CEO of CIBSE, stated, “This renaming is a strategic move that allows us to connect with professionals across a wider landscape, promoting knowledge exchange, experience sharing, and innovation. It also enables us to better engage with our members on the ground, build stronger networks, and provide tailored support that aligns with local needs while maintaining consistent standards.”

The CIBSE MENA Region includes a wide range of countries across the region. This broader regional scope will enable CIBSE to connect professionals across multiple markets, foster collaboration, and amplify the impact of their work on building performance and sustainability throughout the MENA region.
