Cork City will soon be home to a state-of-the-art padel venue, thanks to a €4 million investment from local company The Hive. The highly anticipated project will transform a 19,000 sq ft industrial space into a modern, purpose-built facility, featuring five indoor courts designed to bring together the city’s growing padel community.
The Hive’s General Manager, David Farrell, shared his excitement about the new venue, stating, “The Hive represents more than just a club. It’s the beginning of Cork’s next community movement. We wanted to bring something unique to the city and that’s why we made this investment. Our goal is to create a place where people can move, connect, and belong.”
The idea for The Hive emerged from the lack of opportunities to play padel within Cork City, despite its growing popularity across Europe. After two years of searching for the perfect location, the team settled on Monahan Road, where they have developed a premium facility to meet the increasing demand for padel in the city.
The club boasts five panoramic courts with nine-metre ceilings, as well as dedicated spaces for coaching and training. These amenities are designed to cater to players of all levels and provide them with a professional-standard playing experience.
In addition to the courts, The Hive will also feature an on-site café and retail area, creating a welcoming and social atmosphere for players. This community hub aims to bring people together and foster connections both on and off the court.
The Hive Padel Club is set to open its doors to the public in December, and bookings can be made through the dedicated app and website.
