PagePeek’s Schometer announced as a Bett Awards 2026 Finalist

London-based EdTech Company PagePeek’s AI-Assisted Platform, Schometer, Listed as Finalist for the Bett Awards 2026

Schometer, an academic evaluation platform developed by London-based EdTech company PagePeek, has been announced as a finalist for the prestigious Bett Awards 2026 in the Ahead by Bett – Further & Higher Education Technology category. The Bett Awards, known as one of the most established indicators of progress in global education technology, received submissions from a large field of international entrants and selected only a limited number of finalists, placing Schometer among some of the most highly-regarded innovations in the sector.

The official shortlist for the Bett Awards can be found at https://bettawards.com/2026-shortlist/.

Schometer has gained increasing attention from universities and research-led institutions for its structured approach to academic assessment. Unlike generic automated scoring tools, Schometer incorporates linguistic analysis, academic-level calibration, and rubric-aligned evaluation, providing educators with more consistency and clarity in marking.

The platform’s development is built on PagePeek’s earlier research model, AI Professor, and the current version serves both educators and students with its dual-purpose system. Some of its key features include level-specific evaluation for undergraduate, postgraduate, doctoral, and journal writing, transparent and multi-dimensional feedback, support for institutional rubrics and discipline-specific criteria, and cloud or on-premise deployment aligned with data-sovereignty requirements. Additionally, Schometer has a GDPR-compliant privacy policy that excludes student submissions from model training.

According to sector analysts, Schometer’s rise reflects a broader institutional shift towards responsible AI, with tools that support academic judgement without diminishing academic standards or human oversight.

The Bett Awards are considered a benchmark for identifying technologies likely to influence mainstream institutional adoption. Products that reach the finalist stage often indicate emerging directions in transitional innovation. The inclusion of PagePeek on this year’s list highlights the growing demand for AI-supported feedback systems that address workload pressures and the need for transparent evaluation.

While PagePeek operates on a smaller scale compared to many multinational EdTech firms, its placement in the finalist cohort is notable for an emerging company.

Schometer will make its public debut at Bett UK 2026, held from 21-23 January 2026 at ExCeL London. The team will be available for demonstrations and discussions at Hall North & South, Stand SM92, where visitors can preview system capabilities, observe live demonstrations, and discuss potential institutional partnership models.
