Ghostwriter Consultancy & Events has announced the appointment of Helen McGee as Director of Venues, signaling a significant step forward for the company’s expansion plans in the UK. The announcement was made on Wednesday 3 December, 2025.
McGee’s appointment coincides with Ghostwriter’s partnership with the newly formed Propaganda Independent Venues, which includes popular venues such as Tramshed and The Globe in Cardiff, The Camden Assembly and XOYO in London, and XOYO in Birmingham. These venues will now operate alongside Ghostwriter’s existing partner venues, including Braehead Arena in Glasgow, The Prospect Building in Bristol, Olympia in Liverpool, The Warehouse in Leeds, and Quarters in Brighton. Together, they will offer a diverse range of options for live performances across the UK.
Dan Ickowitz-Seidler, Director of Propaganda Independent Venues, expressed his excitement about the partnership, saying, “We are delighted to be embarking on Propaganda Independent Venues’ journey in partnership with Ghostwriter. We have a long and successful history of working together and are aligned in so many ways. Ultimately, we will strive to deliver a high standard of venues that support the wider industry and provide unforgettable experiences for everyone who joins us at our venues.”
With this expansion, Ghostwriter will now have an even more eclectic mix of independent spaces, all operated to a high standard and bound by shared principles. These principles include no merchandise charges for artists, a 50% in-house ticket allocation for promoters, a voluntary donation scheme in support of MVT (Music Venue Trust), and a customer-focused ethos.
Helen McGee, newly appointed Director of Venues, shared her excitement about her new role, saying, “I’m thrilled to be appointed Director of Venues. Since joining Ghostwriter in February, I’ve truly felt part of the team. It genuinely feels like home and a place where we can make a real difference. I really enjoy the innovative, creative and inclusive environment as we work collaboratively with every part of the industry and our partners to ensure our venues are the very best they can be. We are extremely customer focused and as venues, it’s crucial to recognize we have many different customers that need to be at the heart of what we do; from artists to promoters, agents to touring personnel, and of course, ultimately, the music fans we are all striving to deliver the best possible experience for.”
In addition to the appointment of McGee and the partnership with Propaganda Independent Venues, Ghostwriter also announced that its original partner venue, Liverpool Olympia, has renewed its long-term agreement. This means that the partnership between Ghostwriter and Liverpool Olympia will continue beyond its 10th anniversary, a milestone for the company.
With these exciting developments, Ghostwriter continues to solidify its position as a leader in the live performance industry, providing exceptional venues and experiences for artists, promoters, and music fans across the UK.
