BridgeHead Software, a leading provider of healthcare data management solutions, has been awarded the prestigious Cyber Essentials Plus certification, highlighting its commitment to maintaining high cybersecurity standards.
The Cyber Essentials Plus certification involves a rigorous technical audit of an organization’s systems to ensure that the required Cyber Essentials controls are in place. BridgeHead successfully met all the certification criteria set by the IASME (The Information Assurance for Small and Medium Enterprises) Consortium, an independent certifying body responsible for delivering the Government’s National Cyber Security Centre’s Cyber Essentials scheme.
In the healthcare sector, where security challenges are significant, cyberattacks can have severe consequences, potentially disrupting NHS operations and compromising sensitive patient and clinical information. It is crucial to establish and maintain secure systems while being prepared to respond promptly to any security breach. BridgeHead’s clinical data repository, HealthStore®, and RAPid™ Data Protection solutions exemplify robust cybersecurity measures, ensuring that customer data remains safeguarded and recoverable even in the event of a cyberattack, such as malware or ransomware.
This latest certification further strengthens BridgeHead’s credentials, as the company has previously obtained the Cyber Essentials certification, providing healthcare organizations with the assurance that advanced security measures are in place. In addition, BridgeHead complies with DCB0129 for clinical risk management and holds accreditations for ISO 27001 (the international standard for information security management systems) and ISO 9001 (the globally recognized quality management system standard).
Crispin Jewitt, Vice President of Development, expressed his satisfaction, stating, “Achieving Cyber Essentials Plus certification is a testament to our dedicated team, our extensive expertise, and our unwavering commitment to maintaining top-notch cybersecurity practices. Healthcare organizations can now have added confidence in BridgeHead’s unwavering dedication to cybersecurity, knowing that we adhere to the strict and comprehensive standards required to serve the healthcare industry.”
Jim Beagle, President and CEO of BridgeHead Software, commented, “Cyber Essentials Plus certification represents the highest standard in cybersecurity. It assures NHS organizations that our solutions are trustworthy and secure. We are delighted to receive this formal accreditation, recognizing our strong track record in cybersecurity. BridgeHead remains steadfast in our mission to protect the NHS and private healthcare organizations against sophisticated and ever-evolving security threats. We will continue to develop innovative solutions that safeguard healthcare data and enhance the cyber resilience of healthcare organizations worldwide.”
