Brighton Sustainable Fashion Week Hosts Ecommunity in Style!

On Monday 25th September, the Sustainable Fashion Week (SFW) hub will be coming to Brighton for the first time ever, taking place until Sunday 1st October. A team of passionate sustainable fashion advocates, working for free, have organised a diverse lineup of free events for the week, leading up to a two-day showcase at Brighton Dome.

The theme for this year is ‘The ReWear Revolution’, inviting people to consider how they can buy less and wear more. Events during the week will include fashion film screenings, a sustainable fashion marketplace, flashmob catwalks, panel discussions, creative workshops, and more.

Becca Freeman, Centre Manager of Brighton Peace and Environment Centre, said: “Brighton Peace and Environment Centre has been championing sustainability and combating climate change for over 25 years. We believe that Sustainable Fashion Week is a fantastic event to be bringing for the first time to our city, it perfectly aligns with Brighton’s trend setting attitude and the community’s long-standing commitment to a more sustainable future. We can’t believe that this is the first ever!”

The SFW hub in Brighton has been organised by Brighton Peace and Environment Centre in collaboration with local community interest company Sew Fabulous Brighton and a network of passionate sustainable fashion advocates, with the support of The EcoSystem Incubator, Discarded Spirits, and Peper Harow.
