Yesterday evening, the Final Draw for the European Football Championship UEFA EURO 2024 took place in an impressive fashion in the Port of Hamburg. The result was recreated simultaneously by Hamburg port workers using colourful nation containers in a unique event. This led to the creation of six eye-catching container towers, that will remain at the O’Swaldkai terminal until 10 December 2023.
The installation was backed by Hamburg Marketing GmbH, with executive support from UNIKAI Lagerei- und Speditionsgesellschaft mbH and LOTUS Containers GmbH. Konstantin Muffert, from the Host City Hamburg Media Team, commented: “It’s been a truly unique experience to witness the draw being recreated using the colourful nation containers, creating the six container towers. This is a great way to link the City of Hamburg with the tournament, and the results will be showcased until 10 December.”
The draw has been made and it is now clear who will face whom in the group stage of UEFA EURO 2024. A picture of the installation is available from the Associated Press.
Hamburg Marketing GmbH have released a statement saying: “This Final Draw has been a memorable and exciting event to witness, and we are looking forward to the tournament starting next year.”
