announced by CEO The CEO announces the launch of a new business, Cooke Digital.

Cooke, a leading provider of innovative cine lenses, has announced the establishment of a new business unit called Cooke Digital. This new unit will be headed by Jordan Thistlewood, who has been recruited as the Managing Director.

Cooke’s /i Technology has long been recognized as the film industry’s top lens metadata platform, solidifying its position in the market and being licensed to key partners in the world of cinematography. With the introduction of Near Real-Time post-production capability in partnership with EZtrack over the past year, Cooke has successfully expanded beyond its base and has been exploring various opportunities to extend its role in the increasingly convergent creative markets. This includes not only live action capture, but also animation and gaming.

Taking advantage of the foundation established by /i, Cooke aims to develop a range of tools that will bring the power and beauty of high-end lenses to digital workflows. These tools will be useful for virtual scouting and pre-production planning, on-set creative workflows with or without LED walls, virtual cinematography for animation and games, and accelerated workflows for VFX and post-production.

Cooke’s success has been built on its innovative cine lenses, and the recent launch of the SP3 mirrorless prime lens series has demonstrated the company’s ambition to enable creatives across the wider industry to enhance the visual narrative of their stories. With the establishment of Cooke Digital as a key third strategic focus area, the company is now leveraging its capabilities in an exciting new direction.

Heading this new chapter for Cooke is Jordan Thistlewood, who will be based at the new Cooke London location in Fitzrovia. He brings a wealth of knowledge and experience in developing software services for post-production, VFX, and animation, gained from his previous roles at Epic Games and Foundry.

“We are thrilled to have Jordan on board as the Managing Director of Cooke Digital,” says a spokesperson for the company. “His expertise and experience in the industry make him the perfect fit to lead this new venture for Cooke. We are confident that under his leadership, Cooke Digital will bring even more innovative and cutting-edge solutions to the creative markets.”
