On Thursday, March 7, 2024, the family-owned and operated Krombacher Brewery in Krombach, Germany announced their partnership with one of Bavaria’s most exciting craft breweries, Starnberger, to introduce their brand internationally. The launch will take place in March 2024.
Starnberger Brewery is known for its modern interpretation of Bavarian beers and their culture. The brand’s flagship product, Starnberger Hell, is an authentic Bavarian lager-style specialty. The brewery has chosen to expand its reach to not only the traditionally large beer markets of France, Italy, and the UK but also to South-East Europe.
The launch date for Starnberger Hell was strategically chosen to coincide with the busy summer of 2024, including the European Football Championships in Germany. This timing will also allow for the brand to gain popularity before the Bavarian Oktoberfest festivities in the fall. The hope is to excite European beer fans with the arrival of Starnberger Hell.

Starnberger Hell, a 4.8% ABV lager, is brewed according to the German Purity Law, using only the finest Bavarian ingredients. The beer is described as easy-drinking, fine-flavored, and refreshing. At first sip, it offers a delicate tartness, followed by hints of wheat and citrus notes from the hops. The beer also has malty aromas of lime honey and a full-bodied, golden appearance. Starnberger Hell embodies everything that is good about the best Bavarian beers.
Located on the picturesque Lake Starnberg in Bavaria, the Starnberger Brewery has been creating excitement in Germany’s traditional brewing scene since its launch in 2016. The brewery prides itself on a craft approach to brewing and maturation, using only the finest locally sourced ingredients. This includes pure water from deep wells in the lush surroundings of Lake Starnberg, hops from the Hallertau region, and malt from two Bavarian malthouses.
Due to its rapid growth, the brewery relocated to Feldafing, on the other side of Lake Starnberg, in 2020. This move also marked the beginning of a partnership with Krombacher Brewery to increase distribution and impact across Germany and in international markets.
