Telecoms Acquisitions Limited (TAL) continues its rapid expansion in the home broadband market with the recent acquisition of Gigabit Networks’ residential customer base from CityFibre.
TAL CEO Nigel Barnett stated, “Gigabit Networks has been a successful ISP in the B2B sector. However, CEO David Yates and his team have chosen to focus solely on their B2B offering and have decided to sell their residential base. This strategic decision aligns with TAL’s goal of expanding our customer base and strengthening our relationship with CityFibre and TalkTalk.”
This agreement follows TAL’s previous acquisitions of 2,800 EZE residential customers and an additional 2,600 customers through organic growth in May.
Together, Gigabit Networks and TAL will work towards a residential offering that combines services from multiple providers, such as BT, TalkTalk, Sky, Vodafone, Virgin, and other altnets, all accessible through one postcode checker.
Barnett and Yates have a longstanding business relationship, and Yates expressed confidence in TAL’s ability to continue providing quality service to his former residential customers. “We’ve built a solid infrastructure that delivers quality connectivity to businesses, wholesale partners, and consumers. However, our focus is now on our channel and wholesale ISP offerings, making it a logical decision to partner with TAL for the residential base. I look forward to working with TAL to grow our residential side while we continue to focus on our channel and wholesale partnerships,” he said.
TAL’s recent agreement with CityFibre will also see a door-to-door campaign over the next six months to increase TAL’s residential footprint. The company is also in negotiations with other altnets to further expand its residential offerings.
Barnett shared the success TAL has had with other ISPs through similar deals. “For example, in just eight months, we have quadrupled OpenFibre’s base in Hull, and our recent acquisition of No One Internet has added a third more residential customers in just three months. As such, we are open to exploring further opportunities and discussing potential partnerships,” he said.
TAL is the parent company of Home Telecom, Fleur Telecom, and Eclipse Broadband. For more information, please visit www.telecomacquisitions.co.uk or contact nigel.barnett@TA1.co.uk.
