The new offering from Charity highlights the importance of “knuckling down.”

Urban Synergy, an award-winning charity focused on youth empowerment and social mobility, recently hosted its first “Success Looks Like US” Career Assemblies to inspire and motivate young students.

The assemblies, launched by Co-Chair of Urban Synergy’s Youth Council, Stefan Harriot, aimed to showcase the importance of self-esteem and how seeing individuals like oneself succeed in education and work can greatly impact personal growth.

Stefan, who is a product of Urban Synergy’s Mentoring Programme, shared his journey from a local Lewisham school to the corporate world. Despite facing challenges during his secondary school years, Stefan was able to focus and excel in his A levels thanks to the support and guidance of his mentor from Urban Synergy. He eventually secured an apprenticeship as a Data Analyst at the London Stock Exchange and is now a Market Risk Analyst.

During the assembly, Stefan also stressed the importance of extracurricular activities for a healthy work-life balance. The event received positive feedback from both students and teachers, with one student stating, “One thing I liked about the assembly is how his life is linked to ours.”

Urban Synergy’s Career Assemblies are available to book and aim to provide young students with valuable information and guidance on career options and opportunities.
