The prison healthcare provider has officially enrolled in an e-rostering solution.

Practice Plus Group, the leading independent provider of healthcare services in prisons and immigration removal centres in the UK, has announced a new partnership with workforce solutions specialist RLDatix. The 5-year contract will see RLDatix’s Optima system implemented to safely roster 3,300 prison healthcare staff, allowing them to deliver quality and equitable healthcare.

The Optima system is set to go live later this year and will provide an integrated and responsive rostering system to ensure the safety of both staff and patients. It will utilize data on staffing needs for each area of the prison and provide users with a safe and optimal roster that can be easily reviewed for safety, fairness, and value.

With a daily workforce of 3,300 and over 41,000 patients at over 45 prisons across the UK, the Optima system will have a significant impact on the delivery of healthcare services. It will enable the best possible rosters, matching staffing levels with patient needs, reducing agency spend, providing real-time operational data for informed decisions, and helping staff manage their work-life balance while reducing risk to patients.

Luke Wells, Service Director for Health in Justice at Practice Plus Group, expressed the company’s commitment to providing safe and equitable healthcare. “The move to RLDatix Optima aligns with our vision and we chose RLDatix because of the quality of its system and the exemplary standard of data it could provide. The safety of our healthcare staff and patients is of utmost importance to us and we believe RLDatix Optima will help us achieve that.”

Jonny Newsham, Head of Independent Healthcare and Partnerships at RLDatix, highlighted the benefits of their rostering technology. “Our people rostering technology provides a holistic view of staffing needs across prisons where Practice Plus Group provide healthcare services to ensure the safety and efficiency of staff and patients alike.”

Organizations interested in improving their workforce processes can discover more about RLDatix Optima and sign up for a roster assessment. This can help identify potential improvements and ensure the delivery of safe and effective healthcare services.
