“Rainbow Wool: A groundbreaking fashion statement utilizing the wool of homosexual sheep”

The world of fashion has taken a bold and inclusive step forward today, as Rainbow Wool launches its first collection made entirely from the wool of gay rams. This groundbreaking initiative not only makes a powerful statement for the LGBTQIA+ community, but also supports the fight for equality and visibility of queer individuals around the world.

Founded in 2022, Rainbow Wool is a company that produces high-quality yarn, with a mission to promote inclusivity and support the LGBTQIA+ community. The company’s latest collection, launching on September 13, is the first in the world to be made from the wool of gay rams. The proceeds from the collection will benefit LSVD+ – the Federation Queer Diversity.

Homosexuality is still considered a crime in 62 countries, and Rainbow Wool is determined to use its platform to raise awareness and support for queer individuals. The company’s founder, Michael Stücke, is a member of the Gayfarmer Association and runs a sheep farm in Löhne, Germany. Here, he offers a safe and loving home to over 20 gay rams, which are often deemed “worthless” in industrial farming and are typically slaughtered.

Tokio Hotel singer Bill Kaulitz, a strong advocate for the LGBTQIA+ community, has joined forces with Rainbow Wool to design their haute couture look, alongside designers Danny Reinke and Kilian Kerner. Together, they have created a one-of-a-kind fashion collection, featuring statement pieces such as shoelaces, patches, and caps. The collection will be available from September 13 on the company’s website, rainbow-wool.de.

In addition to the fashion collection, Shepherd Stücke offers sheep sponsorships, allowing individuals to support the cause and save more gay rams from slaughter. “With the additional income, I can produce more Rainbow Wool and support even more initiatives that enable queer people to live equal lives,” says Stücke. And Bill Kaulitz is already involved, sponsoring two sheep named Karl and Wolli.

Rainbow Wool is also actively seeking collaborations with fashion companies, inviting them to incorporate this unique wool into their designs as a statement for inclusivity in the fashion world. The company’s goal is to spread the message of solidarity and support for the LGBTQIA+ community through fashion.

The idea for Rainbow Wool was developed by Serviceplan, an international advertising agency.
