Age Concern Hampshire, a charity dedicated to supporting older people across Hampshire, is actively seeking new Trustees and a Deputy Chair to join their Board and contribute to its ongoing success.
Founded in 1985, Age Concern Hampshire has been providing vital services to the older community of Hampshire for nearly 40 years. These services include Care and Wellbeing Centres, Help at Home, Foot Care Clinics, and Information Services, all aimed at improving the lives of older adults in the community.
In order to continue delivering these essential services, the charity is now looking for individuals who are passionate about making a difference and contributing to the wellbeing of older people in the community to join their Board. The roles of Trustee and Deputy Chair are crucial in guiding the charity’s strategic direction and ensuring the ongoing delivery of these essential services.
Helen Callen, CEO at Age Concern Hampshire, expressed her excitement about welcoming new members to their team, stating, “We’re thrilled to welcome people from all walks of life to our team! With virtual evening meetings, you can easily fit this role around your existing commitments, and you don’t need to be local to make a meaningful impact.”
The charity is looking for individuals with a wide range of skills and experiences, such as finance, governance, human resources, marketing, health, and social care, to name a few. Previous Trustee experience is not required, and applicants do not need to reside in Hampshire. The roles are open to anyone interested in contributing their time and expertise to make a positive difference in the lives of older adults.
The convenience of virtual attendance at board meetings, which take place six times a year for two-hour sessions, makes these roles accessible to professionals from diverse backgrounds. This is a wonderful opportunity for individuals to use their unique skills and perspectives to support the vital work of Age Concern Hampshire in assisting older people across Hampshire.
