Norfolk Clubhouse, a charitable organization dedicated to helping individuals on their journey to recovery from mental health challenges, has received a generous £20,000 grant from The National Lottery Community Fund. This funding will enable the club to expand its services and continue its important work of promoting community and resilience among its members through 2025 and beyond.
The news of this significant grant comes as Norfolk Clubhouse has relocated its Norwich hub to a new, more central location at Carrow House. The new space, part of the recently established Norwich Unity Hub, will provide a larger and more welcoming environment for members to gather, as well as allow for easier collaboration with other community groups.
June Webb, psychotherapist and founder of Norfolk Clubhouse, expressed her gratitude for the funding, saying, “We are extremely grateful to The National Lottery Community Fund for this grant, which will greatly assist us in expanding our community and supporting even more individuals on their recovery journey. Moving to Carrow House as part of the Norwich Unity Hub marks an exciting new chapter for us – it’s a fantastic space where we can really grow and enhance the services offered by the Clubhouse.”
Previously, the Norwich hub of Norfolk Clubhouse met at Pilling Park Community Centre on Mondays from 10am-1pm. With the move to Carrow House, the club will now offer services from 10am-4pm on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. The Watton hub will continue to operate as usual.
The grant from The National Lottery Community Fund will allow Norfolk Clubhouse to improve its programs, which include peer support, skill-building workshops, and community and wellbeing-building activities. This funding, along with the relocation, will also help the club achieve its goal of providing a space where members can actively participate in the daily operations of the organization – something that was previously limited due to shared spaces.
Thanks to the support of The National Lottery Community Fund and the Norwich Unity Hub, Norfolk Clubhouse is looking forward to empowering even more people on their journey towards mental health recovery.
