Dubai Hosts the World’s Largest Gathering of Futurists at the Dubai Future Forum
Dubai, United Arab Emirates – This week, over 100 scientists from around the world gathered at the Dubai Future Forum to discuss the future of humanity and the impact of technological innovation and artificial intelligence. The forum, which has been described as the largest gathering of futurists, highlighted the need for a new framework for innovation and predicted revolutionary changes that will shape the way people live, companies are managed, and the universe is explored.
Khalfan Belhoul, CEO of the Dubai Future Foundation, emphasized the importance of an adaptive framework for innovation, such as regulatory labs and sandbox systems, to ensure safety while fostering technological progress. He explained, “These systems and initiatives bring policymakers, entrepreneurs, and stakeholders together to collaborate and refine solutions.”
The forum also focused on the technology supercycle and its potential to reshape the world and change corporate roles. Three transformative technologies – Artificial Intelligence (AI), biotechnology, and advanced sensors – are expected to have a profound impact on sectors and societies worldwide over the next five years. For example, healthcare will become increasingly personalized with the potential to create digital twins of individual bodies, enabling treatments precisely tailored to specific conditions. There is even a possibility that a Fortune 500 company could be led by an AI executive in the near future.
In addition, experts predict that global solar energy capacity will double from 220 gigawatts in 2024 to 450 gigawatts in 2025, surpassing the total installed power capacity of Germany and Spain combined. This increase in solar energy capacity is expected to help reduce climate-related losses and promote greater energy security.
The forum also highlighted the importance of investing in nature-based solutions as part of comprehensive climate strategies. These solutions not only help reduce carbon emissions but also have the potential to create jobs and improve overall environmental health.
The Dubai Future Forum is a platform for global thought leaders to come together and discuss the future of humanity. It aims to promote collaboration and innovation in fields such as technology, science, and sustainability.
