The final round of the German government’s innovation competition for digital identity wallets is underway, with Lissi GmbH as a top contender.

Lissi GmbH Advances to Final Round of EUDI-Wallet Prototype Competition Organised by German Federal Agency for Leap Innovation

Berlin – Lissi GmbH, a leading provider of digital identity solutions, has been selected to participate in the final phase of the EUDI-Wallet prototype competition organised by the German Federal Agency for Leap Innovation (SPRIND). The competition is aimed at promoting innovative solutions for the implementation of the European eIDAS 2.0 regulation.

The EUDI-Wallet Connector, developed by Lissi, enables seamless interaction between organisations and the German EUDI-Wallet, as well as all future certified wallets in Europe. This technology is particularly beneficial for regulated industries such as banking, insurance, telecommunications, and public administration, as it simplifies the issuing and verification of digital credentials. This, in turn, makes it easier for organisations to comply with regulatory requirements and efficiently use digital wallets.

“We are proud to have once again convinced the jury and to be part of such a prestigious programme. We would like to express our gratitude to the Federal Ministry of the Interior and Community and SPRIND for the professional and transparent organisation of the competition and the public consultation process. The international attention for the German approach underlines its character as a role model in Europe,” says Helge Michael, co-founder and CEO of Lissi.

Lissi is also preparing organisations for the upcoming release of the German Wallet in 2025, which will allow citizens to securely store their ID card on a mobile device. This will be the first time this technology is available to citizens, and Lissi is already enabling organisations to prepare for the connection and integration.

“The participation of Samsung and Google in the challenge underlines the global strategic importance of our work,” adds Helge Michael.

Lissi’s EUDI-Wallet Connector ensures that organisations are well-equipped to meet the requirements of the eIDAS 2.0 regulation and the emerging trend of digital trust with identity wallets. For further information, please visit the Lissi website.
