The ADFP Foundation Hosts Surrealism Now Exhibition Curated by Santiago Ribeiro

The International Surrealism Now exhibition will be on display from January 15th to February 15th, 2024 in Coimbra, Portugal. Organized by the ADFP Foundation and mentored by Portuguese artist Santiago Ribeiro, the event will feature the works of 126 artists from 52 countries.

The exhibition will take place at the Conimbriga Hotel do Paço, a historic building dating back to the 14th century. Originally used by royalty and European nobility, the hotel was destroyed during the French invasions and later rebuilt in the early 20th century. In 1993, it became a Pousada de Portugal and in 2019, it was transformed into a charming 4-star hotel.

The main objective of the exhibition is to promote social solidarity and support various social causes such as training for individuals with disabilities and mental illness, providing aid for chronically ill individuals, children, pregnant women or women with children, victims of abuse, refugees, homeless people, and the elderly. The ADFP Foundation aims to invest in people through innovative social responses that promote intergenerational coexistence, integration of individuals with disabilities and mental illness, and sustained local development.

The ADFP Foundation is a civic foundation, founded by the initiative of citizens and not by a single benefactor, donor, company, or state. The Board of Directors and Strategic Council are all volunteers and do not receive any payment for their services.

The foundation is also committed to sustainable development and social cohesion in its territory of influence. It innovates to create employment opportunities, increase income, and defend civilizing values. As a philanthropic foundation, it promotes love, well-being, and happiness by supporting the creation of cultural, recreational, and sporting organizations.

The International Surrealism Now exhibition will showcase the works of 126 artists from 52 countries including Morocco, Romania, Spain, Venezuela, Algeria, Italy, and more.
