The Austrian Post Reveals Innovative “Crypto Stamp Art” Collaboration with HACKATAO and Soulbound Token, Complete with Authenticity Certificate

Austrian Post Releases Limited Edition Crypto Stamp Art by Renowned Artist Duo Hackatao

Vienna – On Thursday, December 19, 2024, the Austrian Post issued its highly anticipated Crypto stamp art (CSA). The limited special edition, created by renowned Italian artist duo Hackatao, has been immortalized and secured on the blockchain. It is the first time that a Soulbound token has been used as a certificate of authenticity for a stamp, making this release unique and groundbreaking. The Crypto stamp art collection focuses on works by renowned digital artists, making it a coveted collector’s item for crypto investors, art enthusiasts, and philatelists alike.

Inspired by Austrian History

The four motifs featured in this collection are all inspired by Austrian history. The first two stamps, depicting Empress Sisi and Emperor Franz Joseph, come in both a ‘living’ and ‘dead’ version. The third stamp features a quote that reads, “In death, we are all equal,” combining Austrian tradition with modern technology and telling the story of a life full of tragedy, romance, and wanderlust.

The animated digital versions of the stamps come in different rarity grades, ranging from Danube Blue to Imperial Red. Additionally, there are a select few rare digital ‘misprints’ hidden within the collection. The physical and digital versions of each stamp are forever linked by a Soulbound token, ensuring that a wallet-to-wallet transfer is impossible.

Crypto-Art Pioneers

The artist duo Hackatao shared their excitement for this project, stating, “We were intrigued by this project because it allowed us to engage with something as institutional as the Postal Service and become part of the history of a form of collecting that runs parallel to the crypto art world. Being part of a collection that embodies such a rich history moved and inspired us. The Austrian Post is an OG in this NFT space, just as we are. They stand out as an institution and for its educational efforts, making the Web3 world more accessible to a traditional audience.”

The Crypto Stamp Art collection is available for EUR 21.80 per stamp, with a total issue of 10,000 stamps (2,500 per motif). It can be purchased at selected post offices, the Crypto stamp online shop (shop.crypto.post.at/en), and through the collector’s service (phone: +43 577 67 – 95095; email: sammler-service@post.at).
