EMD Network Expands Cooperation with Leading French Buying Group Francap
Right at the start of 2025, the European Marketing Distribution (EMD) network is showcasing the benefits of collaboration between renowned distributors in the retail sector. EMD has announced a new partnership with France’s leading buying group Francap, who serves 10 local retailers with over 2,200 points of sale, including the French operations of EMD’s Belgian partner Colruyt.
This new cooperation means that French consumers can now enjoy an even wider range of attractive private label products in Francap shops, while suppliers in France gain access to EMD’s global sales markets through the retail alliance.
Francap, which has been operating successfully in France for over 60 years, has 10 member retailers representing 2,215 outlets in the country. This partnership with EMD will provide Francap with access to a larger global market, while also offering EMD a stronger presence in the French market.
The collaboration between Francap and EMD focuses on the joint procurement and marketing of high-performance private label products. These products are in high demand in the discerning French food market. Francap currently offers its own range of successful private label brands, while EMD brings its portfolio of highly sought-after private labels under the EMD Eurolabel to the partnership.
The cooperation between Francap and EMD is limited to private label products only. There is no collaboration on the international marketing or procurement of A-brand products.
Through this partnership, customers in the French retail sector will have access to an even more appealing selection of high-quality and affordable private label products. The combined expertise of Francap will be incorporated into EMD’s international product group tenders by joint purchasing teams. Furthermore, EMD will open up a new route into the French food market for international own-brand manufacturers, while French manufacturers will have new opportunities in EMD’s intercontinental distribution area.
EMD, which celebrated its 35th anniversary in 2024 with all its members and partners from industry and trade, remains a reliable and cooperative partner in the international procurement and marketing market in 2025.
