Helen McGee has been appointed as the new Head of Venues at Ghostwriter Consultancy & Events.

Ghostwriter Consultancy & Events, a leading business in the events and music industry, has announced the appointment of Helen McGee as their new Head of Venues. The former Divisional Manager at Academy Music Group (AMG) brings over 30 years of experience in event management and venue operations to the company.

In her new role, McGee will lead the operational strategy for Ghostwriter as they expand their venue partnerships, consultancy, and promoting business. With a stellar track record in venue and area management, Helen has expertly overseen key areas such as financial planning, performance monitoring, licensing, and working with local authorities. She also has a deep understanding of the live events industry, having developed and implemented policies and best practices for various areas including building maintenance, ticketing, event risk assessments, and technical operations.

McGee’s strategic thinking has been instrumental in both maximizing existing revenue streams and identifying new opportunities for growth. Her leadership skills have also been evident in her success in recruiting, training, and developing staff, highlighting her commitment to creating a high-performance team environment. With her expertise, she will drive innovation and operational excellence for Ghostwriter.

Helen has also worked closely with local authorities and organizations to support the live entertainment industry. She has collaborated with Bristol City Council to establish the Nighttime Panel and with London’s City Hall to form the Safer Business Network board. She has also worked with Festival Republic, the UK’s leading festival and event promoter, renowned for its flagship events, including the Reading and Leeds Festivals. Her analytical foresight makes her an asset to Ghostwriter as they continue to deliver exceptional events. As a Trustee of the Music Venue Trust, McGee shares Ghostwriter’s commitment to supporting grassroots music venues.
