B&Q Employees Volunteer Time and Products to Age Concern Hampshire’s Care and Wellbeing Centres
On Monday, July 21, 2025, a team of dedicated employees from B&Q generously offered their support, time, and products to Age Concern Hampshire (ACH), a charity dedicated to improving the lives of older people. The team volunteered to spruce up the Care and Wellbeing Centres in Locks Heath and New Milton, which offer a variety of activities and support services for clients, including those with additional needs such as Dementia and Alzheimer’s.
The Centres are vital for family members and carers, providing a secure environment for their loved ones while also offering transportation options for clients in the community. The team from B&Q helped to update the interior design, re-decorate rooms, and upgrade soft furnishings, adding a much-needed touch of care and attention to the spaces where innovative, inclusive, and fun sessions are held.
B&Q’s support for Age Concern Hampshire is part of their wider Community Days program, where groups of volunteers from the company support local communities by improving community spaces. As part of this program, almost 300 charities across the country will receive help from B&Q employees, demonstrating the company’s commitment to making a positive difference in the communities they operate in.
Marysia Noble, B&Q representative, expressed her pride in the team’s efforts, saying, “It’s great to be helping out Age Concern Hampshire. The whole team loves putting their practical skills to use, and when it’s for a good cause, it’s even better. Seeing a project completed by the team gives a great sense of satisfaction.”
Brogan Rehill, a representative from Age Concern Hampshire, expressed their gratitude for B&Q’s support, saying, “We are delighted to have had the team from B&Q support us by giving up their time to improve our space. They have transformed our space into a warm and welcoming environment, creating an atmosphere of comfort. A huge thank you to B&Q and their colleagues for making this happen.”
