Local Runner to Take on Oxford Town and Gown 10K to Support Mental Health Service

On May 11th, 2025, Oxford resident Dan will be participating in the Oxford Town and Gown 10K to raise funds for knus, a vital peer support and coaching service for mental health. After personally benefiting from knus over the past year, Dan is determined to give back and help others in need.

Dan has been training for the 10K since January and is determined to complete the race to support knus. He has set up a JustGiving campaign to raise funds, and every donation will go towards expanding the services of knus. Dan’s fundraising page can be found at https://www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/dank-10k-for-knus.

“Training since January hasn’t been easy, but knowing that every step I take will help expand knus’ services keeps me motivated. Every donation, big or small, will make a difference in the lives of those struggling with mental health,” says Dan.

knus is the UK’s first free, confidential, peer support and coaching chat service for mental health. Their team of trained volunteers, who have lived experience with mental health, aims to transform the way people seek support. The non-profit Community Interest Company (CIC) is fully insured and regulated by the Office of the Regulator of Community Interest Companies and the Fundraising Regulator.

The knus Peer Support Team expressed their gratitude for Dan’s initiative, stating, “We’re thrilled that Dan is running in support of knus and that we’ve been able to help him on his recovery journey. Our vision is to change how people seek mental health support—for the better, forever. Every donation makes a difference, and we wish Dan the very best in his 10K challenge.”
