Beau Bronzage founder and The Tanning Room owner Victoria Hargrave has unveiled Prep & Prolong, a new natural body wash designed to improve tanning results while supporting skin health.
The product launches officially on Friday 12th December and will be stocked across all Tanning Room salons, representing a strategic addition to the Beau Bronzage brand portfolio.
Prep & Prolong was developed to address a persistent issue within the tanning industry. Victoria has long observed that many high-street body washes contain perfumes, soaps and chemicals that strip the skin, dry it out and cause tans to fade unevenly. Her solution is a 94% natural-origin formula that is soap-free and carefully balanced to protect the skin’s pH and microbiome. By cleansing gently, it helps create the ideal base for tanning and can support results lasting up to 14 days when clients prepare their skin correctly.
A commitment to natural formulations and UK-based manufacturing has underpinned Beau Bronzage since the brand’s inception. Prep & Prolong now complements the existing range of tan accelerators and self-tan products and will be offered to salons nationwide as Victoria prepares to expand the professional stockist network in 2026.
The creation of Beau Bronzage stemmed from an unexpected opportunity. Emerging from lockdown, Victoria struggled to find a spray tan product she felt confident using and decided to create her own. That same instinct for action first took shape in 2013 when, shortly after her mother survived kidney cancer, a spontaneous visit to a local tanning salon ahead of a family holiday highlighted an unmet demand. Within weeks, she opened her first salon in Witney.
Since then, the business has evolved into a multi-award-winning operation with salons across Oxfordshire, Wiltshire and Gloucestershire. The Tanning Room now trades in Witney, Carterton, Swindon, Cirencester and West Swindon. Earlier this year, Victoria made the strategic decision to close the Stroud salon amid challenging economic conditions, rising costs and declining footfall. Equipment was redistributed across remaining sites, leading to one Swindon salon achieving a 60% revenue increase in its first month.
Alongside running her businesses, Victoria recently completed an MBA at Hult University, graduating at the Royal Festival Hall in August 2025. Having left school without formal qualifications, the achievement represents a defining personal and professional milestone.
“Prep & Prolong is something I’ve wanted to bring to the market for a long time,” said Victoria. “So many people don’t realise their body wash is the reason their tan fades quickly or goes patchy. This formula is simple, natural and kind to the skin and it genuinely makes a difference. When you prep properly, your tan should last so much longer.”
“I’m passionate about keeping my products UK-manufactured. A lot of salon brands are produced abroad and spend months on shelves before they even reach customers. I want Beau Bronzage to offer something fresher, cleaner, and more reliable for both clients and professionals.”
Prep & Prolong is available now from all The Tanning Room salons, Amazon and TikTok Shop, with additional Beau Bronzage product launches planned for 2026.
