“Bottles for Good” Launches Nationwide to Promote Refills and Reduce Plastic Waste

REUSE Foundation Launches “Bottles for Good” Campaign to Cut Plastic Waste and Support Women-Led Sustainability Projects in Rural India

London, 30 September 2025 – REUSE Foundation, a UK-registered charity, has announced the launch of its new campaign, “Bottles for Good.” This nationwide initiative aims to reduce plastic waste by encouraging people to adopt reusable bottles and supporting women-led sustainability projects in rural India.

Plastic pollution is a pressing issue, with UK households alone throwing away 1.7 billion pieces of plastic packaging every week, according to Greenpeace and Everyday Plastic. This equates to nearly 90 billion pieces every year, much of which ends up in landfills or the environment.

“Bottles for Good offers a practical solution to this problem by promoting refill habits and partnering with local and online refill shops across the UK,” said Roger Sharp, trustee of REUSE Foundation. “Not only does this help reduce plastic waste at the source, but it also supports women-led sustainability projects in rural India.”

Participating stores will receive free high-quality refillable bottles, stainless-steel pumps and caps, marketing materials, and mentions on REUSE Foundation’s social media. A suggested 50% of each sale will go towards funding the charity’s work in India, with the store keeping the remaining 50%.

The funds will be used to train women in rural India, formerly employed as waste pickers, to drive and deliver household refills. This will help reduce plastic waste at the source, improve health outcomes, and support the local economy. To learn more about the projects supported by REUSE Foundation, visit their website.

“We believe that local refill shops are the perfect partners to make reuse mainstream and encourage customers to adopt refill habits,” added Sharp.

To get involved with the campaign, individuals can scan the QR code on campaign materials or visit the REUSE Foundation website to register for a free bundle. The charity also encourages people to use the hashtag #BottlesForGood and #RefillNotLandfill on social media to spread the word and support the cause.
