Bowel Research UK welcomes new CEO
Bowel Research UK, a leading charity funding research for bowel cancer and other bowel diseases, has announced the appointment of Lindsay Easton as its new Chief Executive Officer. Easton officially assumed the role on May 1, 2024, succeeding Lynn Dunne who has been in the position since December 2021.
Dunne will continue to work with the charity until her retirement at the end of June 2024, ensuring a smooth transition for Easton.
In her new role, Easton will work closely with the Board of Trustees to shape the organisational strategy and direction for Bowel Research UK for the next five years.
With over 25 years of experience in the charity sector, Easton brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to the role. She previously served as CEO for Brain Research UK for six years and has held senior fundraising and marketing positions at various organisations including Action for Children, Amnesty International Australia, British Heart Foundation, Young Lives vs Cancer, and Diabetes UK.
Speaking about her new role, Easton stated, “I am honored to join Bowel Research UK and contribute to the vital mission of funding research for bowel cancer and other bowel diseases. There is still so much to uncover in the field of bowel research, and I am excited to work with the team to address these challenges and make a meaningful impact.”
Outgoing CEO Lynn Dunne expressed her confidence in Easton, saying, “It has been a privilege to lead Bowel Research UK during a challenging time for the sector. I am proud of our team’s achievements, and I have no doubt that Lindsay will continue to build on our successes and drive the charity forward.”
Asha Senapati, Chair of Bowel Research UK, also shared her excitement about Easton’s appointment, saying, “We are delighted to welcome Lindsay as our new CEO. With her extensive experience and passion for making a difference, we are confident that she will lead the charity towards even greater success.”
Bowel Research UK is dedicated to funding life-changing research into bowel cancer and other bowel diseases. The charity has seen a significant increase in donations in the past two years, allowing them to fund cutting-edge research and support early-career researchers. They aim to continue this momentum under Easton’s leadership and make a positive impact on the lives of those affected by bowel diseases.
