Bureau Veritas Nexta, an engineering and consulting company within the Bureau Veritas Group, has expanded its collaboration with CorrosionRADAR, a leading supplier of predictive corrosion monitoring and management solutions, to Europe in order to offer an integrated monitoring solution for Corrosion Under Insulation (CUI).
This collaboration builds on Bureau Veritas Nexta’s decades of experience in risk based inspections (RBI) and bridges the gap between quantitative and qualitative risk management, creating optimised inspection programs. This is expected to ensure safer operations, integrate multiple components, and optimise economic performance and return on investment for greater reliability.
Through a risk assessment at a customer’s plant in Puglia, Bureau Veritas Nexta identified an asset that would benefit from the implementation of CorrosionRADAR’s monitoring system, which enhances the data acquisition and monitoring process. This is anticipated to reduce direct and indirect costs associated with CUI management up to 52%.
CorrosionRADAR’s patented CUI monitoring solution along with wireless, battery-powered tools, simplifies its deployments at a large scale. The data is displayed on an online dashboard where risks can be identified even before corrosive damage occurs. This is an example of how Industrial IOT technology applied to predictive maintenance methodologies can be used in the Industry 4.0 era.
With this solution implemented on a storage tank, it is expected to provide significant cost savings over a period of ten years. The data collected and analysed by experts is also expected to enrich the value of the RBI studies, creating predictive and dynamic inspection and maintenance programs.
Ignazio Sciacca, Industry and Engineering & Consulting Sales Manager of Bureau Veritas Nexta, commented: “Our ability to model services on the customer’s specific needs, with an eye towards innovation, has led us to consolidate the collaboration with CorrosionRADAR. We believe that approaching Asset Integrity issues by merging the expertise of the Bureau Veritas Nexta team and the right technology represents a great added value for our customers.”
Mehrdad Silatani, Chief Operating Officer at CorrosionRADAR, said: “This collaboration with Bureau Veritas Nexta enables broader adoption of CUI monitoring technology, pioneered by CorrosionRADAR. For critical applications such as storage tanks, the ability to continuously monitor and predict the occurrence of CUI issues brings huge benefits in terms of cost savings, HSE risk reduction and business continuity. We look forward to leveraging the specialist expertise and credibility of both companies to bring this predictive maintenance solution to the Industry 4.0″.
Bureau Veritas Nexta and CorrosionRADAR have announced an extension of their collaboration in the Middle East to Europe, offering an integrated monitoring solution for Corrosion Under Insulation (CUI). This collaboration is expected to ensure safer operations, integrate multiple components, and optimise economic performance and return on investment for greater reliability. CorrosionRADAR’s patented CUI monitoring solution, along with wireless, battery-powered tools, is expected to provide significant cost savings over a period of ten years. The data expected to be collected and analysed by experts is also expected to enrich the value of the RBI studies, creating predictive and dynamic inspection and maintenance programs.
