Inga has successfully guided her business through economic challenges, the pandemic, and increased competition. Recently, rising operational costs have posed difficulties for many in the industry, but A & B Guest House has excelled, achieving 100% occupancy during summer and earning the e2 Media Award of Excellence.
Cambridge itself has changed over the years, shifting from a hub for business travellers to an international leisure destination. Inga noted, “Businesspeople used to fill our rooms mid-week, but now it’s predominantly international visitors,” reflecting the sector’s post-pandemic trends.

Looking back on her career, Inga shared: “The past few years have been particularly challenging with the pandemic and rising costs, but they’ve also taught me the importance of staying flexible and embracing change. I’ve had to make some tough business decisions, but those changes have allowed me to keep delivering exceptional service.
