Chat2Date Shares Insights on Gaps in Dating Apps as Voice-Based Connections Gain Ground

Call-driven dating platform Chat2Date has unveiled new insights highlighting key shortcomings in mainstream dating apps, as it continues its mission to reinvent how people build meaningful relationships online.

This development follows a wider shift in public sentiment regarding digital dating. Media coverage from outlets such as BBC News and LBC’s James O’Brien Show has drawn attention to the growing discontent—particularly among younger users—towards swipe-heavy dating platforms.

Omar Shah, Director at Chat2Date, a UK service operated by GO Telecom Ltd, commented:
“We offer the chance to foster genuine connections that start with a real voice. We’ve been quietly helping people find love and now we’re focused on reaching those who want something different from dating apps.”

According to Chat2Date’s internal data, engagement is notably strong on its platform, with average call durations around 11 minutes, and users with accounts often chatting for approximately 23 minutes per call.

This focus on real-time voice interaction comes at a moment when Gen Z and other age groups are increasingly disengaged from visually curated dating experiences.

The service bypasses profiles and photos in favour of voice-based, one-on-one conversations—appealing to those disillusioned by filtered profiles, repetitive swiping, and concerns over safety.

Since its inception in 2008 by GO Telecom Ltd, Chat2Date has connected users through live calls with fully screened participants, providing an immediate and authentic dating experience.

Omar added:
“Our platform removes the pressure of image-led, text-based interactions and brings dating back to its roots, authentic conversation. In a landscape where people feel disillusioned by filters, ghosting and fake profiles, we provide a space for real people to connect in a more honest way.”

Chat2Date also prioritises security. All activity is monitored by trained staff, ensuring calls remain respectful and compliant with safety standards. These safeguards, along with robust anti-scam protections, position the platform as a trusted alternative.

The service is currently available via mobile and landline across the UK. As part of its outreach, Chat2Date is offering free calls to female users, making it easier to try out the platform’s voice-first model.

In a dating market often accused of being impersonal and image-obsessed, Chat2Date is inviting users to rediscover the warmth of voice and the thrill of real human connection.
