Continue Arcades is set to open its latest venue in Taunton’s East Street, bringing a blend of classic and cutting-edge gaming to Somerset. The expansion follows the strong reception of its Plymouth flagship and continues the brand’s ‘free play’ model – one price, unlimited access.
The new arcade features a wide range of gaming favourites, from timeless hits like Donkey Kong, Pac-Man, and Street Fighter IV, to modern arcade and pinball machines. Guests pay a single admission fee – £13 for adults (16+), £10 for children aged 4–15, and no charge for children under 4 – and can play as much as they like during their visit.
This all-inclusive approach was created to offer a more welcoming, relaxed environment than traditional pay-per-play arcades.
Austin Wood, founder of Continue Arcades, drew inspiration from his time in the United States and envisioned the arcade as a place where local communities could connect through shared play.
“Continue Arcades is about bringing people together through gaming,” Wood stated. “We wanted to create a space where everyone, regardless of age or gaming experience, can enjoy themselves without the constant need for coins.”
Alongside the games, the Taunton venue includes a bar stocked with a range of refreshments – from soft drinks to pre-mixed cocktails, beers, IPAs, and ciders. Unlimited warm popcorn is also available for a small fee. The arcade is designed for visitors of all ages, whether dropping in with the family or meeting friends.
The new branch opens to the public on 4 April, operating Sunday to Thursday from 11:30 am to 9:00 pm, Fridays until 11:00 pm, and Saturdays from 10:00 am to 11:00 pm.
With the Taunton launch, Continue Arcades continues its mission to provide accessible, community-focused entertainment in a nostalgic yet modern setting.
