Denmark is set to kick off the 2026 season of the International Fireworks Competition on 16 May, featuring the 34th contest with the theme of ‘Dance of Northern Lights’.

The 2026 International Fireworks Competition is set to dazzle audiences for its 34th season with its latest theme, ‘Dance of Northern Lights’. This highly anticipated event will take place in Hanover, Germany, featuring five teams from northern regions competing over five evenings between May and September.

Inspired by the mesmerizing Polar Lights, also known as the Northern Lights, these teams will showcase their pyrotechnic skills and transform the night sky into a spectacular display of vibrant colors and patterns. Along with the main event, there will also be a supporting program filled with delicious culinary options, picnic areas, live music, and fun activities for children.

The competition schedule is as follows:

– 16 May 2026: Denmark – Højen & Magic Fyrværkeri ApS
– 30 May 2026: Norway – Pyroteknikk AS
– 15 August 2026: Finland – Suomen Pyroteknikka (SPT)
– 5 September 2026: Scotland – Fireworx Scotland Ltd
– 19 September 2026: Sweden – Göteborgs FyrverkeriFabrik

Families can also take advantage of a special family ticket for two adults and two children (aged 6 to 14) for 75 euros, with additional children admitted for 12 euros each.
