Pet owner Jordan Ashford was frustrated by wax melts and air fresheners that only covered up unpleasant smells without removing them. Determined to find a better approach, she developed Ease-E Melts, a collection of products designed to safely tackle odours in homes across the UK.
In 2023, Jordan began experimenting with handmade wax melts after becoming dissatisfied with the synthetic, chemical-heavy options in shops. A creative outlet quickly became a full-fledged passion. “I remembered something my dad always told me – ‘find a job that you love, and you’ll never work a day in your life’. For the first time, it really resonated. I knew this was what I wanted to do,” she said.
Her inspiration crystallised after a rainy walk with Nala, her lemon beagle. “It poured down with rain and when we got home, the wet dog smell was unbearable,” Jordan recalled. “I lit one of my melts and while it masked the smell temporarily, the stench returned the next day. I realised I wasn’t solving the problem – and that’s when Ease-E Melts was born.”
Jordan rebranded her early creations into a business with a simple mission: to remove pet odours safely and effectively. Ease-E Melts now offers wax melts, sprays, and carpet treatments made from gentle, pet-friendly ingredients, designed to refresh homes without harsh chemicals.
“The first time I tested my products, I knew I was onto something. The dog smell in the air was actually gone. For the first time, I felt relief and confidence in my home and that’s the feeling I want to give other pet parents,” Jordan said.
For Jordan, Ease-E Melts represents more than fragrance – it’s about restoring comfort and confidence to pet owners. She sums up the brand as “a loyal best friend for your home – playful, loving, reliable and a little cheeky. It’s about giving pet owners their home back, without embarrassment, anxiety, or the constant battle against odours.”
With 57% of UK households now owning a pet (Pet Food Manufacturers’ Association, 2024), demand for safe, effective home odour solutions is growing rapidly. Surveys show that 23% of Brits rank pet smells among the top 20 worst household odours, while 11% of homebuyers would reconsider purchasing a property due to lingering pet scents.
