EMMS International, a renowned international healthcare charity, has launched its ‘Pathways to Peace’ campaign on Thursday 19 December, 2024. The campaign aims to provide healthcare and support to those living with health inequalities in Malawi, India, Nepal, Rwanda, Zambia, and Scotland.
EMMS International has been dedicated to improving health and providing compassionate care globally for many years. Through their work, they have transformed the lives of individuals like Aaditya, Andriya, and Frank, who have shared their powerful stories as part of the ‘Pathways to Peace’ campaign.
Aaditya, a young man who suffered a life-altering spinal injury, was able to receive the medical care and emotional support he needed at the Green Pastures Hospital in Pokhara, Nepal, thanks to EMMS International’s intervention. This enabled him and his family to regain hope and begin rebuilding their lives.
Andriya, a young woman from Raxaul, where 1 in 3 people live below the poverty line, faced overwhelming challenges after the death of her father. However, she was given the opportunity to train as an Auxiliary Nurse Midwife at The Duncan Hospital in Bihar, India, through EMMS International. Now, Andriya has the chance to live an independent life while supporting her family and caring for her community, allowing her to thrive and pursue her dreams.
Frank, an older person in Scotland, has also been supported by EMMS International through his mobility challenges. With their help, he was able to make new friendships and enjoy new hobbies through music sessions and well-being lunches near his home. This has challenged social isolation and loneliness, improving Frank’s overall wellbeing.
The ‘Pathways to Peace’ campaign is calling on supporters to contribute by visiting emms.org/peace. Donations received will directly fund healthcare services, ensuring individuals like Aaditya, Andriya, and Frank receive the care they need.
EMMS International also offers various ways for individuals to get involved, including becoming an ambassador, joining live updates, and participating in fundraising events. These opportunities allow supporters to actively engage with the charity’s mission of promoting health and hope globally.
