Wicked Cookies, a small family-run business based in Coventry, has been recognised with two awards at the National Free From Food Awards in London. The company won Gold for their Vegan & Gluten Free Snickerwoodle and Silver for their Vegan & Gluten Free Triple Chocolate cookie.
Judges praised the Snickerwoodle for its “seriously delicious, light cookie” with a “lovely soft yet crunchy texture and the cinnamon sugar / snickerwoodle flavour”. In response to the frequent questions of what a Snickerwoodle is, director Sally Rees explained that it is a vegan and gluten free version of a Snickerdoodle, which is a light, cinnamon flavoured cookie popular in the US.
Wicked Cookies offers a range of over 40 flavours of cookies, catering to vegan, dairy free, gluten free, nut free and soy free diets. Co-director Giles Rees declared that “No other cookie producer can match the range of allergen free cookies that we offer”. All of the cookies are made by hand at the Warwickshire bakery by a passionate team.
The Free From Food Awards is the UK’s only awards dedicated to free from food and drink. Established in 2008, the awards celebrate the best of free from food & drink. Wicked Cookies has proven itself to be a worthy recipient of its awards.
