Fibank Makes Significant Stride in Green Strategy, Reducing Carbon Footprint by 8000 Tons
Fibank (First Investment Bank) has taken a major step towards its long-term green strategy. Starting in 2022, the bank has begun transitioning to renewable energy sources for its operations, supplied by leading company Balkan Logic Ltd. As a result, Fibank now covers 100% of its electricity needs with green energy throughout the country.
This transition has significantly reduced the bank’s carbon footprint, preventing approximately 8000 tons of CO2 emissions in 2023. This move solidifies Fibank’s commitment to responsible and sustainable business practices, making it a role model for other companies to follow.
In 2022, the largest Bulgarian-owned bank relocated its headquarters to a state-of-the-art, environmentally-friendly building. The new Fibank premises in Sofia are certified as Excellent under the BREEAM sustainability standard and house all of the bank’s administrative units. Along with providing necessary amenities for employees and clients, the eleven floors of the building feature a cutting-edge microclimate management system with individual settings for rooms and offices, further contributing to the bank’s efforts to reduce emissions.
Fibank (First Investment Bank) is a Bulgarian public company, majority-owned by Ivaylo Mutafchiev and Tseko Minev. This latest development marks a significant milestone in Fibank’s journey towards becoming a leader in responsible and sustainable business practices. Distributed by https://pressat.co.uk/
