First Series Ltd and Phase Change Solutions (PCS) have joined forces to bring sustainable solutions to the UK refrigeration market. The partnership will offer Apollo™ Panels, powered by PCS’ patented BioPCM® technology, to healthcare facilities in order to reduce medicine waste and lower the carbon footprint.
The Apollo™ Panel offers up to 7 additional hours of temperature protection during power outages and/or mechanical failures, as well as reducing maintenance and increasing product life cycle. Health Innovation East conducted trials in August 2023 which revealed the panels’ performance.
Simon Gold, Principal of First Series, said, “The Apollo™ Panels will be a valuable addition to our product portfolio offering assurance that product waste can be eliminated while saving energy.”
Phase Change Solutions is dedicated to revolutionizing pharmaceutical refrigeration, reducing waste, and ensuring the safe storage of medicines. Govi Rao, CEO of PCS, stated, “We are excited to partner with First Series, introducing BioPCM® based products, in the UK. In keeping with our principles of circularity, our goal is to eliminate pharmaceutical product waste with advanced materials solutions.”
First Series is committed to reducing the carbon footprint and environmental impact of their operations and industry partners. PCS’ BioPCM® products have been certified to include 100% bio-based content and listed among the USDA’s BioPreferred® products.
Today, First Series Ltd and Phase Change Solutions (PCS) announced a partnership to commercialize sustainable solutions for the UK refrigeration market. First Series will distribute BioPCM®-based Apollo™ Panels, which are designed to absorb and release thermal energy at precise temperatures and minimize stress on compressors in refrigerators, to healthcare facilities in order to reduce medicine waste and lower the carbon footprint. GP practices can procure the Apollo™ Panels through Williams Medical’s website, the exclusive distributor for Apollo™ Panels in the UK.
