Gefion Capital, a Swiss portfolio manager, has announced the launch of a gold-denominated note for investing in Monetary Metals’ gold leases and bonds.

Gefion Capital AG Launches New Gold Investment Note

Scottsdale, Arizona and Zurich, Switzerland – January 10, 2024 – Gefion Capital AG, an independent asset manager, has recently launched a new investment product targeting non-US investors. The Monetary Metals® Diversified Gold Income Note aims to deliver a 6% to 8% net return on gold through investments in Monetary Metals’ gold leases and gold bonds.

The note, which is domiciled in Luxembourg, has received approval from Swiss regulator FINMA and is now open for subscriptions until January 26. It is only available to qualified, non-US investors, with a focus on European and Middle Eastern clientele.

Heini Beretta, a seasoned financial professional with over 25 years of experience, will serve as the note’s portfolio manager and investment advisor. Beretta expressed his confidence in the product, stating, “Gold has traditionally been a fundamental component in Swiss portfolios given its unique qualities during credit crises. I am proud to bring this groundbreaking security to the market.”

The note is priced in gold, with 100% of its principal denominated in gold and accruing interest on gold. It earns its return by leasing and lending gold to a portfolio of gold-related businesses through the Monetary Metals Gold Yield Marketplace™. The gold collateral backing the note is held by a Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV), with no financial leverage and returns derived from credit risk and liquidity premia.

Monetary Metals CEO Keith Weiner commented on the launch, stating, “This product marks yet another company milestone. The note brings new capital to our Gold Yield Marketplace™ and accelerates our growth.”

Interested parties can find more information on the note, including ISIN and Bloomberg codes, at www.mmdgin.com or by contacting Heini Beretta at hb@gefioncapital.com.
