Berlin to host world’s largest cannabis trade fair with over 500 international exhibitors and 60,000 expected visitors
Germany, June 16, 2025 – Germany has become the center of the global cannabis scene, with the country’s partial legalization by the “traffic light” government coalition sparking a boom in the industry. The upcoming Mary Jane Berlin trade fair, taking place from June 19 to 22, 2025, is expected to be the largest cannabis trade fair in the world, with over 500 exhibitors and 60,000 visitors. This marks a significant growth for the trade fair, which was first established in 2016.
The event, which will be held at Messe Berlin, will cover an area of over 70,000 square meters and feature industry icons such as former world boxing champion Mike Tyson. The festival stage will also see performances from top acts like Samy Deluxe, while the professional conference, organized in collaboration with the Cannabis Industry Association (BvCW), will host 90 high-profile speakers discussing topics such as home cultivation, the medical cannabis market, and telemedicine.
According to organizer and co-founder Nhung Nguyen, the trade fair started as a small scene gathering and has now grown to become the largest cannabis trade fair in the world. “When it came to cannabis, the world used to look to the U.S. – now it looks to Germany, and Mary Jane is the highlight of the industry,” says Nguyen.
The event has already sold a record 40,000 tickets in advance, with 5,000 industry representatives from 50 countries registered for the first-ever B2B day on June 19. The professional conference, which aims to showcase the various positive qualities of cannabis and the benefits of legalization, will feature experts from business, science, and politics.
The effects of legalization can also be seen in the numbers, with Germany having an estimated 4.5 million cannabis users. This number has roughly doubled over the past 15 years, and according to Statista, cannabis market revenues in Germany are expected to reach one billion euros in 2025. The medical cannabis market, in particular, is booming, with the import of cannabis for medical and scientific purposes increasing significantly in 2024.
At the trade fair, visitors can expect to see a wide range of medical cannabis products and services from various distributors, as well as the latest industry trends such as digitalized balcony greenhouses, edibles, and non-intoxicating CBD products. “Mary Jane offers something for everyone. We’ve tailored the entire fair concept to attract new audiences as well,” says Nguyen.
The fair will also feature an open-air festival under the motto “Cannabis first,” with no alcohol being served. The festival will focus on the cannabis plant and feature top acts such as Samy Deluxe, Hayiti, and Marvin Game. A special highlight will be a Ferris wheel for visitors.
“With Germany becoming the most innovative and dynamic cannabis market one year after legalization, we want to retain our special community spirit,” says Nguyen. “Cannabis is now a part of society and brings people together.”
