Grant Read has been welcomed as the new CEO of Age Concern Hampshire.

Grant Read has been named as the new Chief Executive Officer of Age Concern Hampshire, effective immediately. The announcement was made on Monday, December 2, 2024.

Read brings with him over 20 years of senior leadership experience in various sectors, making him well-equipped to lead the charity into a new chapter. He takes over from Helen Callen, who will now serve as Chair of the charity’s board.

Callen expressed her excitement about the appointment, saying, “I am delighted to welcome Grant to Age Concern Hampshire as our new CEO. As I take on my new role as Chair, I look forward to supporting him in our shared mission to positively impact the lives of older people across Hampshire.”

Read has most recently led high-performing teams as a regulated provider of social housing for older adults. He has been deeply involved in combating social isolation and fostering community in retirement living villages and care homes, which aligns seamlessly with Age Concern Hampshire’s mission.

On his new role, Read said, “Helen’s leadership as CEO has been invaluable, and I’m pleased that she’ll continue to guide us as Chair. I am looking forward to working together with her.”
