The new datAshur PRO+C flash drive features a USB Type-C interface and is pending the prestigious FIPS 140-3 Level 3 validation scheme. This achievement solidifies its position as the world’s first and only flash drive to meet the rigorous standards of the new validation scheme, ensuring robust data security.
The datAshur PRO+C by iStorage is a user-friendly USB 3.2 (Gen 1) Type-C flash drive that combines high-speed performance, ease of use, and top-level security measures. It incorporates PIN protection and hardware encryption, offering military-grade data security. Available in capacities ranging from 32GB to 512GB, this cutting-edge device is accompanied by a USB Type-C to Type-A adapter to accommodate evolving USB interfaces.
The FIPS certification, recognised worldwide, demonstrates that devices have undergone stringent testing and adhere to the highest standards for encryption algorithms and data protection. The FIPS 140-3 standard is considered a benchmark in US government data security. Organisations rely on this certification to ensure that the selected hardware meets specific security requirements. The new certification includes additional criteria for physical tamper-resistance and identity-based authentication.
Advanced security features embedded in the datAshur PRO+C guarantee complete data security and protection. The flash drive incorporates a rechargeable battery and an onboard keypad, allowing users to enter an 8-15 digit PIN before connecting the device to a USB port. Without the unique PIN, unauthorised access to the datAshur PRO+C is prevented, providing peace of mind even if the drive is lost or stolen.
The drive offers independent user and admin PINs, making it ideal for corporate and government use. In case the user forgets their PIN, the drive can be unlocked using the admin PIN, and the user can then set a new PIN.
Additionally, the datAshur PRO+C is engineered to withstand brute force attacks. After 10 consecutive incorrect user PIN entries, the user PIN is deleted, but all data remains on the device and can only be accessed by entering the admin PIN. However, if the admin PIN is incorrectly entered 10 times, the PIN, encryption key, and data are permanently lost, and the device reverts to factory default settings.
