“Klöber celebrates 90 years of success with their iconic “Made am Bodensee” story.”

Klöber Celebrates 90th Anniversary with Launch of New Ergonomic Office Chairs

Owingen, Germany – On Wednesday, November 12, 2025, Klöber, a leading furniture company, commemorates its 90th anniversary with the launch of two new ergonomic office chairs. The company, founded in 1935 by Margarete Klöber, has been a pioneer in modern seating solutions, and the new designs pay homage to the brand’s rich history while also representing a fresh start.

In a male-dominated industry, Margarete Klöber fearlessly started the company at the young age of 25, driven by her passion for ensuring healthier sitting. She introduced the Polstergleich, one of the first ergonomic office chairs in Germany, which featured a sprung construction and adjustable backrest. The chair was a success, with Margarete Klöber becoming a pioneer of modern seating.

Now, nine decades later, the company based in Owingen in the Bodensee region is celebrating this legacy with the launch of the CoMeet C35. Designed by Jörg Bernauer, the swivel chair pays tribute to the iconic Polstergleich. Its unique wooden starbase and minimalist rotating spindle combine comfort with functionality, while the seat shell made of PET felt or recycled polypropylene promotes sustainability.

In addition to the CoMeet C35, the Connex model has also received a new look for Klöber’s 90th anniversary. The company has addressed the issues with conventional mesh fabrics, which are often too transparent, feel cool to the touch, and create unnecessary waste during production due to offcuts. The new Connex Mesh Melange fabric is knitted to fit without offcuts, providing breathability, elasticity, and comfort in every sitting position.

Klöber CEO Thomas Möller explains, “Each of our products follows the philosophy of optimally combining sustainability and innovation.” This approach has been the driving force behind Klöber’s success over the years, from careful material selection and durable construction to a clear and timeless design language. These new chairs continue to embody this philosophy and hold the same unquestioned status as Margarete Klöber’s Polstergleich did back in 1935.

As Klöber celebrates its 90th anniversary, the company remains committed to providing high-quality, innovative, and sustainable seating solutions. With its rich history and dedication to progress, Klöber continues to set the standard for ergonomic office chairs.
