“Krombacher Brauerei embarks on strategic investment for the future by undertaking large-scale conversion to modernize bottling plant.”

Krombacher Brauerei Announces Over 100 Million Euro Investment in Conversion of Bottling Plant

Krombach, Germany – Krombacher Brauerei, Germany’s number one beer brand, has announced a major investment project to modernize its bottling plant. The company will be investing over 100 million euros over the next six years to upgrade its facilities and optimize its production processes.

The first stage of the project, which is already underway, involves the installation of a new sorting area with a state-of-the-art sorting system and systems to improve material flow. This will significantly increase efficiency in logistics and support the brewery’s commitment to a reusable system.

In addition, starting in 2026, four bottling lines will be replaced with modern filling technologies, allowing the brewery to respond to consumer demand for a variety of products. This investment not only improves process control but also creates more flexibility in production, allowing Krombacher to continue offering a wide range of products, from its flagship Pils to alcohol-free beverages.

Manfred Schmidt, Technical Managing Director of Krombacher Brauerei, emphasizes that the modernization project is a clear commitment to the future of the brewery and its diverse range of products. “Despite the challenges of modernizing during ongoing operations, we are focused on a smooth implementation to maintain our high quality standards and our ability to deliver 100% at all times,” he says.

This investment not only supports the brewery’s commitment to delivering high-quality products, but also its commitment to its home region and its employees. As a major employer in the region, Krombacher is dedicated to securing jobs for the long term and investing in the future of its employees.

“We have a sustainable growth strategy and focus on long-term investments, which provides our employees with stability and prospects for the future,” says Schmidt. “We are investing in our future – and with that, in the people who share our passion for good beer. We look forward to aligning our production sustainably for the coming decades.”

Krombacher Brauerei, a family-run business since 1803, is known for its use of traditional brewing methods combined with state-of-the-art technology. The brewery uses only the finest natural ingredients, including the local Felsquellwasser®, found in 48 wells within 3 km of the brewery. This special water, which is naturally soft and low in mineral content, gives Krombacher beers their unique, refreshing taste.

With its expansion into over 50 export markets around the world, Krombacher continues to grow and offer a diverse range of authentic beverages. Consumers can choose from a wide variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic options to suit their preferences.
